J. Frederick Kelly was a well known scholar, architect, and restorationist. Born in New York State in 1888, he moved to New Haven in 1900 and lived here until his death in 1947. He is especially known for his interest in the colonial architecture of Connecticut. Ada Watterson Yerkes (1873-1963) was related to three families who settled early in the Connecticut Western Reserve area: the Harper family, the Norton family, and the Watterson family.
